WL “Public” Wiki now open for business

Posted by watsonlibrary on February 2, 2007

The new “public” wiki that we’ll use for Outreach 3 is here: http://watsonlibrarywiki.wetpaint.com/. The user ID and password are the same ones we use for this blog.  So go ahead and put the information from our other wiki onto the appropriate page of this wiki, keeping in mind that this is for our potential audience, not for our internal use.  I think we agreed that we should have our stuff on this wiki by next Wednesday the 7th.

I divided it into the categories John listed in his entry below.

You’ll see that “Google Tools” has two subsets of pages.  The first subsets are pages for “Docs & Spreadsheets” and “Google Scholar”, because I sort of understood that those ones were going to be featured in the Outreach 3 presentation.  Then there is another subset of “Other Google Tools,” which are all the other things we learned about but we may or may not introduce in this Outreach 3 initial program.  So maybe those sub-pages go, or stay, or go somewhere else.  I’ll leave that up to the Google experts in the group to rearrange as appropriate.

Anyway, the text for the Home page of this public wiki should probably the same text we’ll put in the e-mail, etc., including the schedule for the initial presentations.  (Right?)

P.S. In case you haven’t noticed, we set up a page for the Overview presentation, which will have the info specific to that presentation. Then, we can have information about scheduling, etc., on the front page, and keep this page the same once we move away from the overview phase.
